Harry Wilson
Harry Wilson grew up in Johnstown, the son and grandson of Greek immigrants. His dad tended bar and his mom worked at a sewing factory. Harry was the first in his family to go to college, working his way through by cleaning toilets and tending bar. He found success in business and used his skills to turnaround and save struggling companies.
Now, he’s ready to Turn around New York.
Working Class Roots from Johnstown, NY
Harry Wilson was raised with his sister in Johnstown, NY by two incredible, hard-working parents, Jim and Niki. Jim, a World War II veteran and son of Greek immigrants, was a bartender at his brother’s restaurant; Niki, a Greek immigrant herself, worked at a local sewing factory. Jim and Niki sacrificed everything to provide for their kids and taught them all of the key lessons of life: hard work, personal character and integrity, their deep faith in God, and their unwavering commitment to their family and to giving back to their community.
Cleaned Toilets to Pay for College
Harry took those lessons and used them for the rest of his life. He was the first in his family to go to college, working his way through by cleaning toilets and tending bar, doing whatever it took to succeed. He was a campus leader, leading several large organizations, including his campus Republican Club which he grew from 110 members to over 550 members — twice the size of the campus Democrats. He graduated with honors and then went on to earn his MBA.
Dedicated Family Man
Harry and his wife, Eva, have been married for nearly 25 years. Together, they are the proud parents of four daughters and are part of a huge Greek-American family, with nearly 60 cousins spread across New York.
